Consultants choose NaviPlan over any other financial planning software

Empowering consultants with the information they need to make informed purchasing decisions, Research Magazine's "Tools for the Trade" article notes that NaviPlan is the first choice in financial planning software among advisors.

"The number-one financial planning software among consultants is NaviPlan," writes Research Magazine columnist Jane Wollman Rusoff. She notes that it is among the most popular new financial planning applications that enable advisors to produce goal-based plans, and focus on a particular aspect, such as retirement or education planning.

According to the article, the top two reasons consultants are investing in technology are to make gains with speed and efficiency—such as with delivering a financial assessment or updating a plan in minutes. But speed and efficiency are relative to the nature of the work.

Says Joe Montgomery, director-investments at Wachovia Securities in the article: "Technology itself isn't important; what it allows you to do is important." Montgomery 's Optimal Service Group, which is in Williamsburg, Va., manages $3.5 billion in assets.

Tips to take away: consider which processes you want to improve; determine which pieces of technology will enable you to accomplish your business goals; look for either the much longed-for turn-key system, or maximize the use of several integrated systems.
